Madhvacarya’s\u003cspan\u003e \u003c\/span\u003e\u003ci\u003eAnuvyakhyana\u003c\/i\u003e\u003cspan\u003e \u003c\/span\u003ewas probably the major source of inspiration for Vidyabhusana to compose his own\u003cspan\u003e \u003c\/span\u003e\u003ci\u003ekarika\u003c\/i\u003ecommentary, in which he explains all the 552\u003cspan\u003e \u003c\/span\u003e\u003ci\u003esutras\u003c\/i\u003e\u003cspan\u003e \u003c\/span\u003ein merely 750 verses, most of them in\u003cspan\u003e \u003c\/span\u003e\u003ci\u003eanustup\u003c\/i\u003e\u003cspan\u003e \u003c\/span\u003e(32 syllables). Some aphorisms are glossed with a quarter of a verse (\u003ci\u003epada\u003c\/i\u003e), while others are more elaborately commented in several verses. Madhvacarya’s influence is also evident from the very first section, where Vidyabhusana brings the concept of ‘\u003ci\u003evisesa\u003c\/i\u003e.’ The author also gives original interpretations to several aphorisms all over the text, which also differ considerably from those in his\u003cspan\u003e \u003c\/span\u003e\u003ci\u003eGovinda-bhasya\u003c\/i\u003e.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eThere is a strong tradition according to which Vidyabhusana wrote a commentary on the\u003cspan\u003e \u003c\/span\u003e\u003ci\u003eBrahma-sutra\u003c\/i\u003e\u003cspan\u003e \u003c\/span\u003ein a very short time, although there is divergence regarding how long it took. Some claim it was as quick as three days; some say one week; some say one month; some say three months, and so on.
